Oh hi. I’m Shannon.
Remember how if you’re reading this it means that out of the millions of other places you could be on the internets right now, you’re here, and that means a whole lot to me? I do. I remember that.
And remember how we probably haven’t met in the real life, but I’m pretending that we have? Yeah, cuz that’s how I like to think of us — as old friends. Do you feel awkward about that? #hopenotcuzitshappening
Welcome to For the Love! We talk about life here. We talk about the fashions here… lady fashions, kid fashions, mom fashions, sometimes man fashions. We cover beauty/hair/makeup stuff, home decor stuff, fitness, travel, mom-life stuff… all the stuffs.
In short, we talk about all the things we LOVE… and we try not to be boring as death while we do it (a.k.a. taking ourselves too seriously isn’t really our MO. Don’t be mad.).
I’m a wife to the boy of my dreams (Chase).
I’m a mama to the two most adorable little jelly beans in all the land (not that I’m biased or anything) – Jack who is 3, and Charlotte (or ‘Charlie’ as we call her) who is 1.
We live in the Bay Area in the biggest house our California-diluted monies could afford (translation: not big) and we love our simple little lives here.
But for the record: simple doesn’t mean perfect. Which leads me to another important thing you should know about this blog: We keep it real here. We know that life doesn’t always go the way you planned and that things can be hard. Like no-joke hard.
Case in point: In April of 2017, we found out after months and months of testing that our baby girl Charlie has a rare genetic disease called a Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation (specifically ALG11-1p or CDG-1p) for which there is no cure. You can read more about that here and here.
It has been the hardest challenge of our lives, and we have been honest in our discussion about that here on the blog. However, it has also brought singular blessings. We’ve kept it real about all of it, and we intend to keep doing so.
Because that’s what this here blog is meant to be – a place for real talk about both the things that actually matter, and the things that in the grand scheme, really just don’t.
So let’s be friends. Ok?
