Happy Fri-yay homies! K – we’re almost to the end of summer and my favorite season is just around the corner. Fall fashion for the win!
In most places in the country however, fall weather won’t truly kick in for awhile yet. Which means it’s time to talk about transition wear baby.
How the H does one transition from summer to fall fashion like a regular lady-boss? Oh don’t worry. I’ll tell you. I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom today to share four simple ways to pull that off…
Four Ways to Transition from Summer to Fall Fashion
- Switch to jeans but keep the sandals. Ditch the shorts and summer dresses for killer denim, but rock those sandals and open-toe shoes as long as the weather permits! Perfect ensemble strategy for when the weather cools but hasn’t fully kicked into fall temps. Plus you get a little more wear out of your sandals! Huzzah! Below are sandals and jeans that I either own or wish to own.

- Layer! Layering is one of the reasons I love fall fashion so much. It creates endless possibilities and makes outfits so much more interesting. It is also perfect for that inbetween summer/fall phase that we’re fast approaching. During these months, I like to layer with tees, sweaters, jackets, and vests. Here are some of my favorites…
Tees, Vests, Sweaters
- Keep it transitional with summery colors and accessories. I mean, the truth is these days colors really know no season. But obvi the classic fall colors like plum, mustard, olive, orange, etc. – those will always be associated most with our dear friend Autumn. You can linger in summer a bit longer by holding off on those colors and rocking your classically summer shades instead. Think pinks, blues, yellows, whites, etc. The muted versions of the bright colors we love in the thick of summer work particularly well for this phase (blush is a perfect example). Same story with accessories – keep them on the summery side while you can! I love this basket bag and it’s under $100. Other cute summery accessories below!
